Gaming magazine “Game Informer” recently released a July issue cover on Google Play, resulting in the reveal of Titanfall by Respawn Entertainment. The article was quickly removed despite many readers quickly finding it, but the issue cover remains for all to see.
The issue (spotted by a user over on NeoGaf) claims that the game will be arriving in spring 2014, with an Xbox One and PC release (although an Xbox 360 version will be developed by someone else). The game will be a first person shooter, with better health than most games to allow for a more newcomer-friendly experience. There will supposedly be a storytelling style like Left 4 Dead, but with the game having a Blade Runner vibe. The player characters will be pilots (very agile, wall climbing and multi-jumping possible), although other characters will include Mech’s (appropriately named “Titans”, with the weakspot being their brain).
The game will supposedly feature the Cloud very heavily, with Xbox Smartglass and Kinect features also playing a part. It will also be using a modified Source Engine allowing for 60 fps, although this may differ between single player and multiplayer and the maps (which are supposedly more open than previously).
