A couple of weeks ago, The Fantastic Four director Josh Trank started to spread online the first infos about the 2015’s reboot, among which was the cast of Michael B. Jordan (Chronicle) for the role of the Human Torch.
Although the casting approval it is not yet certain, today the actor has released his thought to the press about the fan response, addressing both the positive and the negatives opinions: “Things change and time goes on. It’s 2013 right now. The characteristics of the Human Torch are his name, Johnny Storm, then he’s charismatic, and he’s a playboy. That’s it. You know what I’m saying? That’s all there is. I get a lot of support and a lot of love from comic book geeks. I love it”.
So, for the unhappy with the idea of a black Human Torch just because it is traditionally portrayed as white, the actor wants to make everyone know that both him and the director Josh Trank do not consider it as a primary aspect of the character.
