It isn’t a secret that in recent years cinecomics have become a great part of the movie industry, both for the box-office and the pop culture. And there is one of these characters that has conditioned more than the others these last few years: we’re talking of Batman, the legendary superhero of DC Comics.
Nolan gave new life to a character loved by the entire world and, after a third movie, the British director announced that his employment in Buce Wayne’s life ended definitively. But this did not stop rumors about the so called Justice League of America (or JLA) project, although the philosophy of this supergroup is not exactly in tune with Nolan’s realistic setting, this is why Warner Bros seems to have opted for another character reboot. Who will receive this harsh task, especially after the worldwide acclaim of this last trilogy?
Initially some rumors talked about Darren Aronofsky (Requiem for a Dream, The Fountain, The Wrestler, Black Swan) but he declined the offer, seemingly he’s not interested in the project. But recently Comicbooknews declared that an internal source of the DC Comics has finally chosen the filmmaker Rian Johnson (writer and director of the recent Looper) for the job. The movie will be entitled The Batman and will be inspired by the videogame Arkham Asylum, developed by Rocksteady.
This news isn’t official, but it’s some worthy speculation material. We’ll keep you posted in the coming weeks, of course.
