This is not a common “your favourite game” thread, it’s something more.
I am asking you guys what is that game which perfectly suits you, that game that actually you love because it’s looks like it contains all the features you ever wanted in a videogame experience, that game you wasted 400 hours on it, that game that if never released, you would notice that “something” is missing in your personal game’s panorama.
The game that defines yourself as gamer.
I am quite an “epic oriented person”, i have swords and axes hanging on most of my house walls (not kidding), i read tons of historical and fantasy books, watch related movies (from cult “Highlander” to almost unknown pics like “Ironclad” or “Black Death” for example…i have seen any movie that actually got swords in it) but, apart from RTS, videogames indusrty has always disappointed me. I never played a game actually capable to put ME in a middle of a Ridley Scott’s Robin Hood medieval battle.
Never.
Except for Mount & Blade Warband
In this game, you are FINALLY just one soldier, one simple dude that dies with 1 hit or kill with 1 hit, and you are (in third person view, WASD controls) one soldier in 300, 400, 500, or more people battle! Open field, castle sieges, castle defend, village raids…every possible medieval battle scenario. And you are part of it. You are there, side by side with your brothers, facing 300 honorable enemies carrying a banner different from yours.
I can say that this is the game which defines me as gamer. (don’t dare to mention Dynasty Warriors bullshit, i’m gonna murder you).
It has flaws, it’s not easy, has a high learing curve, etc….i’m not here to say it is a perfect game, but it’s 3 years i’m constantly playing it, and it is a game that definse its genre: the medieval-simulation.
For the “gamer Boskoz” there is no others like it.

What about you guys?
(Be careful, this is not my favourite game. This would be an hard answer….maybe it is the Mass Effect Trilogy? I really can’t say, but this is a different topic ^^).

At times, like Mr. Marsten, I am a loving husband and father. Other times, I walk down the street itching to scrape my knuckles across a cheekbone.
