Alone in the Dark: Illumination Devs Considering Additional Platforms

Atari surprised more than a few gamers when it announced, just a few months ago, that Alone in the Dark: Illumination was on its way towards PC for a Fall 2014 release. It has been six years since the series reboot released in 2008, and this time Atari is moving Alone in the Dark: Illumination onto a completely different route, as for the first time in the franchise the gameplay will allow cooperative action for up to four players.

We’ve contacted developer PureFPS to learn more on the game and obviously, we’ve asked them about the possibility to see it on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. CEO Jason Brice answered with the following statement:

AITD: Illumination is currently a PC exclusive. Additional platform releases are under consideration.

It seems like at release the game will be available only on PC, but since it runs on Unreal Engine 4, I’d say that the chance to see it on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One some time in 2015 is pretty high. Come back tomorrow for our Q&A with Brice about Alone in the Dark: Illumination itself; preorder is already available on Steam and it will grant you a place in the closed beta, scheduled for late November. We’ve embedded the preorder trailer below.
