Don’t Starve: Giant Edition Not To Feature Cross Play

As it was recently revealed by Klei Entertainment Co-Founder, Jamie Cheng, Don’t Starve: Giant Edition will finally be making its way to the PlayStation Vita. Awesome! But, on the downside, in order for this ‘awesomeness’ to happen, they had to rewrite a bunch of code, resulting in the unfortunate inability to cross play with the PlayStation 4. Oooh..bummer. BUT, since Klei is so awesome, they’ve been happy to make the Giant Edition cross buy! Meaning, if you already own Don’t Starve on the PlayStation 4, you can get the PlayStation Vita version for free. Now that you know the sort of bad news, lets talk about the really good stuff. Don’t Starve: Giant Edition will be arriving to PlayStation Vita this upcoming September 2nd, and will feature the following:
- New playable characters: This edition gives players two new giants to play as and with! Play as Wigfrid the stage actress, or the young Webber who has a very complicated living situation involving a spider that tried to eat him.
- Year-round starvation: Survive through the year’s most challenging seasons, and make your way through the torrential rain of spring and bubbling heat of summer.
- A bigger, badder world: New environments have been created, with all new creatures. But be careful, not all will be so friendly.
- An extra save slot: oh yeah, baby.
- Giants: Betcha didn’t think there’d be giants in the Giant Edition, huh?
Don’t Starve: Giant Edition is set to include the Reign of Giants expansion pack, and will be priced at $14.99.
