Escape Dead Island Has Reason To Replay It
Escape Dead Island, the spin off to the Zombie Paradise Hack and Slash game from 2011 will have some kind of reason to replay the game again once you’ve finished.
The game centres on a new character, Cliff Carlo, as he investigates the mysterious outbreak that wiped out Banoi six months earlier. Although his insanity is brought into question early in the game as mysterious and seemingly impossible things occur all around him. It looks like the game may have been influenced by Spec Ops: The Line, where playing through the game again will make more sense of the seemingly irrelevant and insane events through the story.
Being single player only there was fear that the game could be played once and completely forgotten about, but at Gamescom, John Smallwood, the Creative Director of the series promised the game would have some reason to come back to it, although he was very vague on the details.
[When you play this through a second time will you pick up on bits of information and clues to what is really happening that you wouldn’t understand the first time around?]
“Well you might, I can’t spoil to much though. But there is New Game Plus and the concept that in a second playthrough you’ll see things you didn’t see the first time.”
So it appears that the game itself is built to be played more than once with different things happening once you complete the game for the first time. And with New Game Plus, you might have all the equipment from the beginning giving you access to every location straight away. This could mean you discover things in a different order, possibly creating new scenarios.
