Mark it: Evolve Receives Release Date!

2K United Kingdom has just tweeted some pretty dang exciting news: Evolve‘s release date! Yup, this 4v1 cooperative first-person shooter will be available this upcoming October 21st! As 2K put it: hell yeah!
From what I was able to check out of the game at this past PAX East, I can definitely say it’s looking pretty solid. Evolve is fit for a party game, but also comes equipped with a bit more of a tactical combat system. Players will be able to tackle a variety of 5 different roles: the four Hunters, and the Monster. The Hunters are tasked with one job, hunt and kill your monster before it evolves. Each Hunter has its own specialized role, though.
You can choose between the Assault, Medic, Support, and Trapper classes-each one vital to the defeat of your enemy. Then there’s the Monster-a badass boulder-tossing, Hunter-slashing beast. What’s your job? To kill all the Hunters, and evolve as fast as possible. Monsters have a number of abilities ranging from throwing boulders, charging, slashing, etc.
Fortunate enough, I was able to play as the Trapper class at PAX, and if you want to read what I really thought of Evolve, check out my hands-on article here.
