Watch Dogs Breaks New IP Preorder Records

Ubisoft just proudly announced via a dedicated press release that Watch Dogs is now the most preordered new IP in Ubisoft’s history, and the most preordered new IP in the entire industry thus far in 2014.
Moreover, Watch Dogs is also the second highest preordered Ubisoft game ever.
Senior VP of Sales and marketing Geoffroy Sardin commented:
These strong pre-orders are a clear indication of players’ anticipation and excitement for Watch Dogs. The teams have worked tirelessly to ensure that players will enjoy a top quality game with enormous scope, and we can’t wait to get the game into their hands.
Michael van den Berg, vice president of Merchandising at Gamestop International, backed Ubisoft’s statement:
We are seeing tremendous excitement for the new Watch Dogs game. In fact, Watch Dogs is the highest pre-ordered next-generation console game to date. It is on track to be one of the top selling video games across all consoles in 2014.
Watch Dogs, originally scheduled to be a launch title for next generation consoles last November, has been delayed to improve polish in a number of ways. It will release on 27th May for PC, PS4, Xbox One, PS3 and Xbox 360, with a WiiU version still planned for a later, yet unspecified date. The game’s development has been led by Ubisoft Montreal, with Ubisoft Bucharest, Ubisoft Paris, Ubisoft Quebec and Reflections all helping as well.
