Here’s What World of Darkness MMO Looked Like
Yesterday, the incredibly tormented development of CCP’s World of Darkness MMO abruptly came to an end, as with an official announcement the game was cancelled. CCP had bought the IP from White Wolf quite a few years ago, with the development of this sandbox oriented MMO rumored since 2009.
It is very unfortunate, as the setting and CCP’s experience with the sandbox genre could have produced an incredibly interesting game. However, thanks to a few leaks over the Web, we can give you a unique look at some early pre-alpha screenshots of the game.
As you can see, everything is really basic - we can spot a few buildings in a dark street filled with a bunch of NPCs. The UI seems fairly sleek, but if that’s the extent of what they were able to do in all these years, then perhaps it was only right that it got cancelled.
Still, a World of Darkness MMO has a lot of potential - CCP apparently hasn’t decided yet what do with the IP, so stay tuned for any news about this.
