Phil Spencer: “We’ve had best launch ever, Sony too”

The latest podcast with Major Nelson had an interesting 25-minute interview with  Phil Spencer, the newest head of Xbox.

There was a question of a slow start (in the industry) and how would he grow the market.

Phil Spencer disagreed on that there was a slow start and continued:

We’ve had our best launch ever, we’ve never sold this many Xboxes at the launch as of to date with Xbox One. My friends at Sony are having a tremendous success with PlayStation 4 as well and if I look at just the impact of both of those consoles in the gaming space / consumer electronics units sold, it’s been great six months to be in console gaming bussiness.

 

This is an interesting statement since people tend to think that Xbox One didn’t completely meet the expectations, but it seems it all went as better than planned (with some small reverses in their policy). This is certainly good to hear for all the gamers worldwide.
