Rumor: Is There A New Batman Game in the Works?

Some mumbo jumbo has been said in regards to some very interesting Batman posters. A fellow internet blogger claimed that the new Batman posters came for a ‘BIG game store in the U.S. for their March marketing’. Assuming this ‘big game store’ is GameStop, the blogger also attached an image of the posters. Take a look below.

Of course, no mention has been made as of yet from Rocksteady, and this is all just pure speculation. These posters are definitely curious enough to spark anyone’s interest, though. Personally, I’m sort of hoping this isn’t a new title, seeing that Arkham Origins just released less than a year ago. But, if it were to be a new installment, I would be totally all for an open world Batman game-would definitely be interesting. If I’m remembering correct, a few years back, it was discovered that Warner Bros. registered several domain names when they were still creating the sequel to Arkham Asylum (which became Arkham City). One of the ones they hadn’t used was ‘Ashes of Gotham’.

Curiously enough, Azreal delivered a prophecy to Batman in Arkham City, stating: “I bring a message: dark days are coming, Batman. The Prophecy is coming true, you are the warrior who will close the gates of Hell, you are the one who will save this day, and in doing so, events will occur that you cannot stop, from the ashes of Arkham the fires will rage and Gotham will burn, and you, you will burn too.” This may be a long reach, but the posters revealed seem to have the Batman logo outlined with fire. Maybe this is where Warner Bros. is heading, or is it just a coincidence? I guess we’ll find out.
