The Order: 1886 Squad Characters Detailed

There’s a been a lot of talk about The Order: 1886 in the past few weeks. Obviously, graphics has been by far the hottest topic, but the weapon system was also discussed, among other things. Still, for a game supposedly very much focused on a filmic experience, very scarce details have been available so far on the storyline and its characters - until now. In a lengthy article published today on the official PS Europe Blog, Ready at Dawn‘s CEO Ru Weerasuriya finally shed some light on The Order: 1886 squad, composed of four unique characters.

The four characters have very different story lines – their past, how long they’ve been around, what they’ve done, who they’ve fought.

Mallory is the squad leader in many ways; Galahad is someone who’s been involved in the conflict for a long time; Igraine – she’s younger but still confident’ and Lafayette is the rookie of the squad. He’s the one who jokes around. He’s a little jovial, happy-go-lucky, doesn’t worry about too much. It’s a nice balance between the four characters.

This seems promising, although of course it only makes me eager to know more. I’m still curious about the gameplay interaction with the squad - I would love the ability to give them orders, such as cover fire, retreat etc., although it is likely that they would have talked about these elements if they were in the game. Overall, I’d say that despite the London reveal, there is still a lot of mystery surrounding The Order: 1886 - let’s hope to know a lot more in the next few months.
