Microsoft announces series of Ryse discounts
Leading up to Ryse: Son of Rome’s new DLC titled Mars’ Chosen Pack - the second piece of downloadable content for the game - launching on Feb. 28, Microsoft has announced a series of discounts regarding the Xbox One launch title.
The first event is from Feb. 18 to Feb. 24 in which the Xbox On Demand version of Ryse will be on sale for $39.99, $20 below the normal price. From there, Major Nelson and Xbox’s Facebook and Twitter page accounts will announce the remaining discounts each day from Feb. 25 to Feb. 27.
Finally, on Feb. 28, the Mars’ Chosen Pack will launch. This DLC comes with five new maps, the Legionary character skin and a co-op called mode called Survival Mode. This pack costs $8.99, but those with a season pass will be able to download it at no charge.
Survival has two players battling against unlimited waves of enemies while you’re health slowly drains. The only way to keep your health coming back is performing “quick kills and brutal executions.” With each new wave, your health will deplete even faster as well. In regards to the five new maps, two of them are made specifically for Survival while two others are made for Arena Mode. The last map, Courtyard, one that is already available in the game, has been optimized for Survival Mode.
In an interview with Xbox Wire, Ryse Senior Producer Justin Robey said Chronicles and Ryse comic book pages will be included in an update on Feb. 28 to coincide with the DLC’s launch.
