Both X1 and PS4 have a ton of room for improvement

A couple of days ago, a few websites picked up tweets from industry insider Ahsan Rasheed (also known as thuway) indicating a possible 10% performance improvement coming to Xbox One with a driver update. However, thuway just clarified in a series of tweets that driver updates and performance improvements are to be equally expected for both platforms.

He also added that those expecting some sort of announcement regarding these driver updates will likely be disappointed, since it’s just regular work that has been done for every console, even in the past.

Finally, he concludes that a combination of things coming together, such as driver updates, tool improvements, engine optimizations (and let me add experience with the hardware) will eventually lead to greater visual fidelity in the upcoming games.

There you have it. If you have been a bit disappointed so far, rest assured that this is merely the beginning, for both Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
