During a Nintendo Direct broadcasted today, the Big N has revealed more information regarding Pokemon X and Pokemon Y.

Players who own either Pokemon Black, Pokemon White, Pokemon Black 2 or Pokemon White 2 will also be able to store their Pokemon in the Bank with Poke Transporter by placing the games in a 3DS, and transferring them to the Bank. From there, players can put their Pokemon from the past two games into Pokemon X and Pokemon Y.

The Pokemon Bank will be available in Nintendo’s eShop in North America sometime in the future.

In the past, players have always started out by receiving one of three starter Pokemon from the local Pokemon Professor, but this time, the X and starters will be given to you by a character’s friend in the game. In a surprise reveal, later on in the game, the Professor will still give you Pokemon, but you will be able to choose between the original Pokemon starters Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle.

To activate Mega Evolutions, however, players will need the Mega Stone alongside the newly announced Mega Ring, which is what the Pokemon Trainer will wear akin to a wrist band.
