It’s no secret that Knack is aiming to be a kids game - the perfect game to get a kid with his shiny new PS4 this Christmas - featuring characters reminiscent of saturday-morning cartoons, simple and intuitive controls and a story that can be enjoyed by players of all ages.
In order to make Knack even more kid-friendly, Mark Cerny announced at Gamescom that Knack will feature co-op and that it is built with younger players in mind to help them get through the game in an easier fashion. The second player will control a robot version of the main character, Knack, who’s main purpose is to help Knack throughout the game. For example, as Knack takes damage, he becomes smaller and weaker but the second player controlling the Robo-Knack can donate party of his body to allow the first player to regain his lost size and power.
Cerny hopes that through this co-op mode Knack can be appealing to everyone as even an unskilled parent or child can help out the first player get through challenging areas of the game without resulting in frustration.
Knack will be a PS4 exclusive and a launch title when the PS4 will hit shelves on November 15th in the US and November 29th in Europe.
