Liege port for WiiU approved

With 4 days to go in Kickstarter, TRPG Liege gets its approval for port to the Nintendo WiiU. Now all it has to do is get funding as an additional stretch goal. Earlier in the campaign, the title received approval for its port to PS4, PS Vita, and Linux, which is less than $1,000 away from being funded at the time of this post.

Said Liege creator John Rhee, “the decision to add the WiiU to our list was made in the hopes that the news will drive in additional backers to get us closer to our goals and ultimately benefit the game.” Albeit, the addition of the WiiU stretch goal has also led to a slight uptick in the subsequent goals. This has led to mixed reactions in the update’s comments section:

Tenouchi says, “Been hoping to hear about the WiiU for a while now and i am glad it got approved.”

Ola Hansson says, “It’s disappointing seeing the stretch goal I actually want, the Burning City, get pushed further and further back on behalf of stretch goals I have no interest in.”

Despite the clamor from either side, those pining for the WiiU port may not need to fret even if the goal does not get reached. Rhee is steadfast in his personal quest to make this game the best that it can be — content, ports, and all. “If we’re unable to meet the targets,” he said, “I’ll still be putting in extra effort to try to implement them myself.” This, however, does not include a port to Xbox, which Rhee explained in our interview with him earlier this month.
