EA has released more details regarding the Battlefield 4 plot.
Assuming the role of Sgt. Daniel Recker, he and his fellow Tombstone squad members are on a mission to collect intel from a Russian general who has defected. After evading Russian forces, Tombstone squad’s intel confirms from the intel that Chinese Adm. Chang is plotting a coup alongside the Russians.
As a result, Tombstone is sent on a mission to Shanghai to extract VIP’s, but things become shaky when the U.S. has been accused for the assassination of Jin Jié - a future leader and peacekeeper for China. Meanwhile, U.S. and Russian naval forces are gathering themselves off the coast of China.
As protesters are battling Shanghai police, Tombstone finds the VIP’s, but among them is a CIA agent, Laszlo W. Kovica, and an individual the Chinese military is seeking. From there, Tombstone and Kovic cooperate to bust through battles to reach the USS Valkyrie.
Once aboard, Tombstone heads to Singapore to rendezvous with the USS Titan and 7th U.S. carrier group. However, upon reaching Singapore, the Titan and fleet have been wiped out. Now, nothing is known for certain.
