New info for Deadfall Adventures

Polish network Gry Online just published a preview for Deadfall Adventures, the upcoming action/adventure game from The Farm 51.

The game, previously known as Project Adventurer/The Adventurer, features James Lee Quatermain as the main character; this is supposedly a nod to Alain Quartermain, a fictional hero created by H. Rider Haggard for his novels.

In the story, Quatermain and his (female) companion will enter an ancient temple while looking for Xibalba, which is the equivalent of the underworld in Mayan mythology. As expected, there’s a mysterious artifact with the power to grant immortality at stake, and both human (grave robbers, Nazis, Russians to name a few) and inhuman enemies, although ultimately the plot should be about the inherent evil within humanity.

Gameplay wise, clearly Deadfall Adventures borrows heavily from titles like Tomb Raider and Uncharted, although in a twist players will be able to select the difficulty of each component (for example, combat and adventuring) separately. It is also mentioned that players will have access to a detective mode in order to aid them in puzzle solving, and if they manage to do that they can also weaken enemies somehow.

Finally, multiple multiplayer modes are said to be available, like deathmatch, horde mode, treasure collection; The Farm 51 must also be a fan of the Call of Duty series, since apparently there will be kill streak bonuses. The game should release this July for PC and Xbox 360.
