Strange casting for Guardians of the Galaxy
Director James Gunn responsible of Super in 2010, wonderful little drama/comedy with Rainn Wilson that gave an original touch in the super heroes genre, has gained the love of Marvel, in fact now he is the director of a “real” movie about people in costumes saving the galaxy: Guardians of the Galaxy planned for 2014 (US release probably at August 1). News about this project are still few, but today thanks to a strange casting call placed on the website Universal Extras (a site for actors and stuntmen looking for work) we can start to figure out what we will see in the next Gunn’s movie. The complete casting call is below:
Main Group: For the next Marvel super heroes movie we are looking for male and female actors to use as main group in different scenes of the film.
Alien Planet: The movie is about a group of heroes protecting a galaxy full of aliens, so we need male and female actors with amputations.
Stunts: We need a stunt for the main male actor.
Albinos: We need male and female actors albinos.
Tall Aliens: We need very tall male actors, to dress as aliens.
Dark Monks: We need people that pretends to be monks.
Mutants Soldiers: We need experienced stuntmen who will dress as mutants .
No Hairs: We need male and female actors completely bald.
A Big One: We need a very muscled man that looks similar to one of our main actors.
Identical Twins: We need male and female couples of identical twins.
At the moment the cast features Zoe Saldana, Michael Rooker, Chris Pratt, Damion Poitier and the wrestler Dave Bautista (guess the casting call named A Big One can be for him). We still don’t know the main plot but the universe in the mind of James Gunn looks very weird but strangely interesting.
