Project Totem Speed Runs Have To Be Earned

Project Totem, the up and coming platformer that requires the player to control two totem pieces at the same time will have speed runs and high scores, although they have to be unlocked for each level.
Instead of having them available from the beginning, the player has to complete the level collecting all 70 collectibles without dying before you’ll be able to record your score.
This is unusual as the rest of the game is available from the very beginning, including the co-op multiplayer levels. The reason they have decided to do it this way is so players don’t attempt to rush through each level on their first attempt and can instead take their time to learn and master each challenge before undertaking an attempt to get their time recorded.
Its an interesting model that means only the dedicated fans will have their names recorded on the leaderboards, although the game itself will still be very accessible to the less hardcore fans too.
