The Vatican TV Series rejects Ridley Scott

Apparently, being rejected by a studios can happen to a legend like Ridley Scott too. The premium cable network Showtime has rejected Ridley Scott after seeing the pilot episode that he directed for the dramatic series The Vatican.

In the statement, the series was intended to be “a provocative contemporary genre thriller about spirituality, power and politics set against the modern-day political machinations within the Catholic Church” but the pilot, written by Paul Attanasio and featuring Kyle Chandler, Anna Friel and Bruno Ganz “didn’t come in as strong as everyone expected given its pedigree” and so was rejected.

Stay tuned for more information on what will happen now to this overall interesting TV project.
