Divekick studio: PlayStation 4 is “legit awesome”
Tomorrow, PlayStation 4 will be finally launched in many more countries, including Central & South America, Europe and Australia/New Zealand. The excitement coming from gamers is very strong and, from what we have been able to gather so far, it’s completely echoed by the development community. Another testimony of this came from Divekick studio Iron Galaxy, in an interview on GamingBolt where CEO Dave Lang stated:
We’re working on several PS4 games right now, and the machine is legit awesome. Personally I can’t wait to see what some of the AAA devs like Naughty Dog will be able to do with it.
Iron Galaxy Studios is in fact known for their contracts to work on parts of larger projects for third parties. They are currently working on the PlayStation Vita Borderlands 2 port, but they are also working on unannounced projects with giants like Epic Games, Capcom and 2K Games, as outlined on their website- chances are, these are the PS4 games Lang is talking about. As for Divekick on PlayStation 4, it was previously announced as launch title but it had to be delayed:
We ended up pulling out of the launch lineup a bit ago. We were just too rushed to make all the changes we want to make to the game, so we decided to take our time and do it right.
As for a potential Xbox One release, Microsoft’s ID@Xbox program is being explored by the team, but they have nothing to announce yet. You can read our review of the PC version here.
