Watch Dogs’ Aiden is closer to Dexter than to Batman
In an extremely interesting developer session at Eurogamer Expo, Ubisoft‘s Creative Director Jonathan Morin spoke at length about Aiden Pearce, the main character in Watch Dogs.
Morin said that while vigilante characters were born in the Golden Age of comics as caped/masked crusaders, more recently a vigilante has been simply someone who takes the justice into his/her own hands. Interestingly enough, he added that in a spectrum, if Batman and Dexter Morgan were on opposite sides, Aiden Pearce would probably be a bit closer to Dexter.
Aiden is not a good guy, but he’s not a bad guy either, and Morin described him as a conflicted man; his personality is even reflected in his appearance. There’s a lot more in the 41 minutes long video here, so I suggest to watch it (although there is very little game footage) if you’re interested in more information on Watch Dogs. Personally I liked the premise of the game from the beginning, so I truly hope that the execution lives to the hype, especially after almost five years of development.
Watch Dogs is expected to release on 19th November (North America) and 22th November (Europe) for PC, WiiU, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, while both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will receive the game as a launch title.
