Ace Combat Infinity details
Ace Combat Infinity will be the first free-to-play game in the long running franchise from Namco Bandai Games, and today details emerged from the web due to an interview with the project leader Kazutoni Kono. Below are the main details on exactly how this model will work:
- Infinity has a campaign mode which will be completely free of charge, anyway this mode really serves as a tutorial for the real core of the game: the online competitive multiplayer.
- Multiplayer takes the form of 4v4 matches, competing over a kill count. Deathmatch mode was considered, but was not included.
- Multiplayer mode contains a Fuel system. Players have a limited amount of Fuel that runs down over time. It will replenish over time without charge, but players can pay for an instant refill.
- There is a shop with purchasable in-game items.
Ace Combat Infinity will hit PlayStation 3 in Japan later this year.
