Nintendo 2DS announced, plays all 3DS games in 2D. No, it’s not a joke.
You’d be forgiven for checking your calendar and thinking to yourself; “Is it April 1st?” because I don’t think anyone saw this coming.
The Nintendo 2DS is the third iteration of the Nintendo 3DS, the clam-shell design is gone, as is the 3D capability.
If you ask me, the design is not pretty, and seems somewhat more “child friendly” than the 3DS XL, but this could appeal to parents who were hesitant to buy a 3DS for their children due to rumours of it damaging eyesight.
Gone is the clam-shell design which has been a staple of Nintendo handhelds with the Game Boy Advance SP, excluding the Game Boy Micro, and in with a design which could potentially be familiar to those who owned the original Game Boy and Game Boy Color consoles.
The Nintendo 2DS is due for worldwide launch this October and the price is set for £109.99 ($130 in the US), opinions are certainly very divided. Tell us what you think of the console’s redesign! Do you like it? Do you hate it? What would you have done differently?
