Hitman: Absolution free in August for PlayStation Plus members

The PlayStation blog has announced the new benefits for North American PlayStation Plus members during the month of August, which includes Hitman: Absolution costing zilch.

Originally released on Nov. 20, 2012 with a solid score of 79 on metacritic, Hitman: Absolution follows series protagonist Agent 47 as he faces betrayal from the agency he use to trust while being hunted down by police. The digital version of Absolution comes with Deux Ex disguise and weapon DLC for Contract Mode as well as a discount on the digital version of Sleeping Dogs. Absolution will be available to download for free on PlayStation Plus starting Aug. 6.

PlayStation Plus

Alongside Absolution, the following games will also be made free sporadically throughout August:

  • Bit.Trip Presents Runner2: Future Legend of Rhythm Alien (PS3)
  • Darkstalkers Chronicle: The Chaos Tower (PS Vita/PSP)]
  • Machinarium (PS Vita)
  • Zen Pinball 2: Star Wars Pinball (PS3/PS Vita)

 

There will also be a huge sale on Rayman titles whether you’re a member of PlayStation Plus or not. The prices of Rayman games are being halved while Playstation Plus members can enjoy 75 percent off of the original price. The sale will run from Aug. 6 to Aug. 13.

  • Rayman Origins
  • Rayman 3 HD
  • Rayman Origins PS Vita
  • Rayman Arena
  • Rayman 2 Revolution
  • Rayman 2: The Great Escape
  • Rayman

 

Alongside the Rayman sale, other PlayStation titles will enjoy discounts as well.

 

PSN title EscapeVektor, priced regularly at $9.99, can be purchased at half the cost or at 75 percent off with a Plus membership. Wicked Monster Blast! HD for PSN is seeing a similar discount, but Plus members can snag the game for $1. Superfrog for the PlayStation 3 and PS Vita is receiving a 20 percent discount, reducing the price to $7.99 with PlayStation Plus. The sales will begin on Aug. 6 as well.
