SimCity Sells 2 Million Copies

Despite one of the worst launches in recent history plagued with server problems and being on the spotlight about its always-online requirement, SimCity just surpassed the 2 Million sales mark. EA haven’t changed their always-online requirement regarding SimCity and, once things calmed down after the initial weeks, the servers were able to handle the load just fine.

EA did however learn a lot from the launch of SimCity and the feedback t got from the community and is using that to make The Sims 4 a better experience by making it offline capable. It’s nice to see EA reacting positively to the immense amount of negative feedback from the SimCity launch and it’s also nice to see that the game was able to sell well despite a rocky start.
